What To Expect

ETNA TOUR: Goodmorning Etna tour

Free pick up in Taormina and surroundings, by jeep or minivan, at your accomodation or in the close vicinity. Departure at 8.30 am /

Return at 2.30 pm.

 

1st STOP: CRATERS & LAVA FLOWS

Hiking around the perimeters of extinct craters at about 2000m, through ancient woods and along lava covered paths, you will admire and appreciate the fascinanting volcanic phenomena.

 

2nd STOP: VOLCANIC TUBE

You will visit the volcanic undercover walking into a lava tube, a cave formed by lava flowing underground.

 

3nd STOP: SNACK

Will be offered a snack with sandwich and tipical sicilian products,dessert and local wine

Included in the Tour are all the equipment like elm, windjacket,trekking shoes. Tours are made for maximum 8 people in different language.

 

SAVOCA TOUR: Godfather tour

Our Licensed native English speaking will meet you at 10.00 AM in the lobby of Your accommodation in Taormina. After 20 minutes driving with 8 seats air – conditioned minivan you will reach Forza D’Agrò, a real and authentic small Sicilian village. Take a Walking tour of the old town and visit the places where The Godfather movie was played. After a Walking tour of the village with explanation of Sicilian authentic culture and way of leaving You will drive towards Savoca, the second Sicilian small village where the movie was played. The famous Bar Vitelli where Michael Corleone met the father of his future wife Apollonia. Then walk 5 minutes to reach Saint Lucy Church where they got married. While taking the walking tour Your Guide will introduce you the real history of Sicilian Mafia, how it grows up and spread very fast all around Italy.

You will listen about the real structure (cupola), about his Boss and about the Mafia clan wars to control the territory. You will discover how 2 Sicilian Officers (Falcone and Borsellino) thanks also to some “”Mafia repented men””, were very near to discover the truth about Mafia and his collusion with Italian politicians . You will know how it really ended up with them. After the Walking tour you will stop in a nice elegant food venue. Here you will be served a typical Home-Made Sicilian Plate of Pasta and a Glass of red wine while enjoying authentic panoramic views of town. After light lunch in 30 minutes driving You will be dropped off in your accommodation. Expected return is around 15.00.

Tours in Taormina, Italy : Further Itinerary Details

As an expert tour operator in Taormina, we have a great set of activities for you. The first of the Taormina day tours is to Mount Etna. You’ll be provided with trekking shoes, jackets, and a walking stick. At the first stop, you’ll hike around extinct craters and through old forests while admiring the volcano’s impact on the landscape. Venture into a lava tube on your second stop and then finish with a final snack stop of sandwiches, dessert, and native wine.

The Savoca tour is conducted by a licensed English speaker who will discuss the details of the Mafia and its political connections. On the way to Savoca, you’ll stop at Forza D’Agrò, the Sicilian village where some of the scenes of the Godfather movie were created. In Savoca, you will visit other notable sites where other scenes in the movie were also produced. You will end with a home-made Sicilian meal of pasta and red wine while enjoying the panoramic views.

The Cantina Murgo tour includes a wine tasting, as you are exposed to the details of winemaking. You will also enjoy a typical Sicilian meal of local ham/salami, cheese, and pate accompanied with the signature home-made olive oil.

For your dinner at the Andreas restaurant, you’ll have your choice of meat, fish or vegetarian options, but drinks are not included. Trattoria Tiramisù serves the customary Sicilian dinner. The meal will feature fish such as tuna and swordfish served Italian style. Your dessert and two glasses of wine are also included.
